Program Purpose
The Purpose of the PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency is to build upon the doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to develop community-based pharmacist practitioners with diverse patient care, leadership, and education skills who are eligible to pursue advanced career and training opportunities including postgraduate year two (PGY2) residencies and professional certifications.
Program Highlights
Orientation and Training: dispensing, computer systems, Lifestyle Coach training
Clinic Services: dispensing, counseling, immunizations, MTMs, Diabetes Prevention Program, Adherence Programs/Medication Synchronization, eCare plans, Point of Care Testing, Disease State Management, Group Home services
Practice Management: financial management, personnel management, developing and implementing new services
Professional Development: year-long residency projects, research project
